Pardon my ranting.

Its all over other forums that people who signed up are getting billed with a subscription fee!! Its ridiculous!!!
After a lot of hassle calling, the same excuse is given. Technical glitch.
Eventually I got it waived.

Amazingly, I got another sms from HSBC again. Reminder that i have outstanding amount to settle.

The same amazing $203.87!!

So another round of calling.

For signing up a new card with them....this is too much.

Hey man, dun worry, the subscription fee automatically gets waived in the next (2nd bill).

For me I faced ANOTHER problem, NO PAPER STATEMENTS! How am I going to keep remembering to login to Internet banking each month to print my electronic statement?

I din know this, thus after signing up for the card, I waited & wondered why no bills have been coming, so I called hotline to see if maybe they have the wrong address in their system, turns out there is no option for paper statements. And thus I kena late payment fees la. At that point of time, I overlooked the fact that they charged me the subcription, instead, I was haggling about the late fees. So the CSO told me to call them back when the 2nd bill arrives, to request for a waiver of that charges. Of coz they told me to settle the outstanding bill from 1st bill but I din want. Only when 2nd bill arrived (yesterday), so today I immediately called them, demanded that those late charges be deducted & I will pay THAT reduced amount. CSO agreed. By that time, I saw that subscription fees already automatically cancelled, so of coz no need to haggle with her on this.

I think this is a tactic, they charge you first, so in the following month, you get "credits" which means you have to spend that amount or more in your card to make it "worth it". Correct?

Hi Goldribbons, like i mention before banks dun earn your money basis on subscription fees...so sooner or later they will grant you that waiver... and keeping an existing customers costs less than finding a new customers...

Honestly i havnt use that card yet and dun intend to do so...nothing attracts me to use it anyway. Its just the advertisement that looks good...

And if they really do that to me...i'm gonna F*** them liao lor...

they do sms and inform you of billing right?

hmm think i shall cancel the card then if no statement.

Fireice, if your fren has another hsbc card, he should be able to sign up for revolution easily.
