hmmm....i dun quite trust such advertisements...that time i attended a free workshop by citibank. Guest speaker was Mariam McWilliams...In the end, she only shared that she is able to earn plenty of money through options trading and there were many of her "students" or colleagues who were trying to get us to sign up for the trading course that is a few thousand dollars...

well, she's just like any other angmoh...haha

there was an article in the newspaper some time ago, that all these courses are actually not worth the money and some full time traders with 10 or more years of experience saying that it was practically impossible to learn trading within such a short time frame (a few weeks) and earn money from it consistently. Maybe in the first few weeks, yes, you are able to do it...but over time, it's impossible. Even full-time traders with years of experience make mistakes and lose money, what makes the consumer so sure that he will make money without making mistakes or perhaps mistakes that are not as major as those committed by full time traders?

The real winners are not those people who signed up, but those who put up advertisements and conduct the courses because that's where they make the money!!

That's just my humble opinions...please feel free to ignore it..

Hah, This is very useful information for me. There are times when there is a sudden urge to sign up for thise courses to cut short the learning curves. Now have to rethink again. Thks for this info.

Trading is more of a skill-based activity like a sport.

Can you become a pro at golf (from a beginner) just because Tiger Woods spend 3 days teaching you?

It does take time to hone your skill.

no problem~
in life, sometimes we need to take a short break and rethink of the consequences of our actions. Just like the time when we get our bonus paycheck, sometimes it gets really tempting to get the latest gadget or equipment, but if you leave the money in your bank and use some time to think about the consequence of the purchase, it might perhaps save us from purchasing something which is a "want", rather than a "need".

Sorry about the late posting, i went for the preview conducted by Optionetics, the course fee is $4995 ...close to $5k.

The presentation was quite convincing along with their promises. The first promise was if you sign up during the preview you get to take their notes, CDs, DVDs and even an active membership to their website with all the tips, support groups all the way until the date of the course. Should by then you are not interested, just return everything on the first day of the course (No you do not get to attend the course) and they will refund everything.

2nd Promise was rather bold... they say after the course within 6 months, if you do not earn $15k which is at least 3 times of your course fee, they will refund your course fees ... every single cent of it. Meaning --> within 6 months you only earn $14k, you get to keep your $14k and they will refund your $5k course fee as well... the only requirement is a minimun of 6 trades / month following their methods and rules and their way of teaching (You got to show proof)..So with a total of 36 trades, they mention you will definitely earn more than $15k.

Very impressive... quite convincing...

Bear in mind that should your trades not work out, you will have lost much more than $5k in course fees.

If you are losing money after 3 months, will you have the conviction to carry on for another 3 using the same methods?

another thing is that will they really honour their words and return the students their money in the event they really do not earn 15k profit?

Well thats something i won't know unless its written in black and white. Furthermore its a leap of faith, its something whether u want to take the first step or not... if you do not take the first step and try, you can procrastinate all the way you wont lose any money but you wont know whether will it work or not for you.  Likewise if you do and you fail...you earn some valuable experience in return.

We humans are like that one...rather strange, like one example, if someone tells you a penknife is sharp be careful, will you believe it? No rite, you will try it out despite the warning and ouch you kena cut & bleed...then you will convince yourself that the penknife is sharp. (This applies to people who have never cut before by penknife, same theory can be applied for things you have never tried before)

Another example, some people always complain buy toto or 4D won't strike one, you keep donating money to singapore pools one, those people are people with negative mindsets. Is there a written rule that you will not strike no matter what you buy? No rite? ... Take 4D for example, theres a 1 in 10000 chance of winning something.

Those people will complain without trying are procrastinating, people who dun succeed and dun want others to succeed as well... what if Sim Wong Foo of creative remains as a engineer and didnt go out to strike out, will we have a creative? Nope... People, nothing is guaranteed in the world except death, we will all die someday. Face the fact, death is 100% going to happen, the rest are not.

Remember this, as long as you try try try and keep trying, you will win or succeed sooner or later. Its a matter of time. If you dun even take the first step of trying, you can be sure of something ...  that is you will never succeeed. Just for your information, even if you are super lucky, damn heng, god wants to give you money or whatsoever, you still need to go up the Singaporepools counter and buy a ticket....

Ponder over what i say, see whether it make sense or not.
