Q: Where do we get our rates?
Ans: We beg, steal and employ every underhanded means we can think of to obtain for you the most updated rates. Other than that, we have our own in house team to get it. Updates by our community help immensely in the rates gathering process too.
Q: Are the information here updated?
Ans: We try our best to update our rates on a regularly basis and ensure that you get only the latest and most accurate information.
Unfortunately, the possibility of human error remains. In addition, it is difficult for us to monitor the rates 24/7 (although we try our darnest...). Hence, we will still advise you to check with the relevant institutions first.
Q: What is the Grace Period for each card?
Ans: Typically, for each statement, it will be 20-25 interest-free days to effect payment before the next Statement of Account is generated. The grace period may vary from bank to bank.
Q: Is there a penalty or charge for full payment at the end of each month?
Ans: For partial payment or non-payment by the payment due date, there will be Finance Charges at 24% per annum levied. Finance charges are calculated daily from the date each transaction is posted to your card account until full payment is received. There will be a penalty charge if payment is not paid by the due date, which ranges from $35 to $45, varying from bank to bank.
Q: What payment methods are available?
Ans: Payment by cheque and GIRO is by far the most common form of payment method. Other methods include payment by ATMs, Internet Banking, or NETs or Cashcard payment at AXS stations.
Q: What is our maximum liability in the event of an unauthorized transaction?
Ans: In the event of loss of card or fraud, you will need to make a police report and inform the bank immediately. If there weren’t any unauthorized transactions during the period of loss to the report of card loss with the bank, you will not be liable for any costs. Otherwise, the amount of liability will be decided at the discretion of the bank, depending on the circumstances.
Q: Can we opt for a much lower or higher credit limit?
Ans: Lower credit limits are acceptable. Extension of credit limits only happens when your income is increased. It will require you to submit your income documents to the bank again for approval.
Q: Where can I find essential details such as Income Requirement, Annual Fee, and other charges?
Ans: You can go to the individual bank or card issuer’s website to browse for the information under their card section. Alternatively, you can make use of our card database on our website to do a search.
