Anyone has any good massage parlours to recommend?

I am refering to those serious, formal type of massage...not those____ type one..

Due to the nature of my work, sometimes i really need to bend and squat alot and carry heavy weights...Therefore, my back is feeling kinda sore and pain...

I heard that there's actually a type of massage whereby the Massage Therapist will be able to crack the joints and make you feel relaxed??

Which style of massage is that? Anyone knows?
I would love to try that!

Hi qwerty123 & all, can't believe we're all getting so chummy in this Forum that even massage becomes a discussion topic haha.

I have this very good chinese doctor/chiropractor recommended to me by my mum who goes weekly. I visit once a month to "straighten" my spine/neck bones as due to posture or long hours @ the laptop, the alignment of the joints always "pao (run)" according to him. So he have to feel every single joint & twist back any which are out of place. Each session lasts for 1 hour & cost me S$40 (diff. ailments diff px I shld think). If you have more surface-pains (e.g. muscle) he can also put chinese medicine on it & wrap. After each session it's so relaxed, you feel that the back is "loosened" and the muscles are less tense.

Of coz the standard is NOT the spa type, use massage oils & do surface rubbing type. Neither is it a classy place, but from my mum's testimonial & those countless friends who went to try, they all said it's very good & solve the pain & aches.

Yes, definitely must make appointment first, wait you go into the clinic then there's one customer there means you must wait till have empty slot for your turn....

Well qwerty123, it's definitely not Tui Na, if Tui Na means this! Tui Na is something like Japanese's Shiatsu, all using finger points, pressure etc.

It's more chiropractic, meaning, more of the joints & bones, and not just surface or kneading the skin like Tui Na. Chronic back/neck/shoulder pains & aches (which I suffer from) is normally due to bone alignment, so by massaging it & twisting back the outofplace ones, the bone structure is perfect & thus less pains. Kneading & pressing on acupuncture points is more of when you spain ankle (muscle blown) or hit yourself against something badly?

I think right,
To relax & rejuvenate, go those spa types, surface kneading, is good, coz too hard pressure also you cannot enjoy.
To "treat" a medical problem, must definitely go to chiros or chinese doc or even specialists. Those massage palours ladies will not know how to apply the correct pressure to the correct parts. Even if go to thailand, it would be more relaxing than "treating" the pain/ache once and for all....

You just have to tell yourself you are "not shy" one & things will improve from there. I used to be quite anti-social, choosing to stick ard with ppl I know for a long time, not new friends. Then I discovered that sense of humour really helps, plus telling yourself, it's JUST talking leh. Another trick is, just be a KPO, ask MORE questions than the other party can ask, as though you are doing an interview with him. Works like magix everytime coz it just keeps him/her talking...

You talk a lot already.....not bad, somemore still have to take care not to neglect the wife, well done!
Well if she is more "shy" (like qwerty hor) then perhaps you shld continue taking her out for these types of gatherings more often (not lesser) so that she will get to know more of us better, can talk about other topics, if not finance issues la!

So has anyone tried the massage yet? Or any other places these days?

My "perceived rheumatism" is acting up man! Everyday after work, the shoulders/neck, very very aching & painful. Keep having to stretch & knock the stupid joints into place... *rolls eyes at myself*

Since we spend on the average at least 25% of your life on the bed sleeping, investing in a good mattress and pillow is of upmost importance. Its better to spend abit more in return for a good night sleep. Honestly i think thats a good deal.
