some people whom i know invested their OA and SA money, whereas some of them prefer to treat the SA account as part of their "safe haven" portfolio and prefer not to touch it. Either way, it's really up to individual's risk appetite.
reminds me of the time before April...when i throw all my CPF-OA into money market fund and slowly move them into some global funds, but i do not RSP, because the deadline of April 1 has been reached.
I have invested my CPF-OA & CPF-SA before the April 1st deadline in equities for OA and Balance funds for SA. Now in my this two account, i have less than 1k for both added up...guess its 1k down another 39k before the excess can be used... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Contest theory: More entries = More chances - Concept of Probability. haha...yeah cos i don't want my money to get locked up by the government...so might as well take a risk no risk, no gain...haha however, my portfolio is in the red now....but it's ok since i am investing for long term...

Yeah u'd better keep the funds since u are still young. What's the diff. btn locked up by the govt & locked up in all your investments right (long term or not). Esp when u may need to purchase a flat in future, you have less one option, compliments of the govt leh.

yeah...rather than to let the government invest for me into a fixed fund, at least i have the liberty to choose what are the funds that i wanted...haha and i am responsible for my own actions...
I know a family, the older son buy house but CPF no $ so use the younger brother CPF to "buy on his behalf" coz the younger son still in NS so no need for these kind of things ie house.
Few years on, the younger son, now wants to buy flat, get married, realised the CPF not enough, no chance to get hdb loan or whatever. Older brother had returned him cash i think, but now both stuck haha. CPF funds dun anyhow use, kinship or not, I feel nowsdays they're trying to make it like a key to most avenues for everyone.

Even for family members, it's best not to talk about money as it can really sour relationship. I have seen it for myself as it really happened to my uncle and aunt.
i don't thinki will invest it...
Yes I will.
Over the long term, it should outperform the rate the CPF board is giving.

probably will invest via regular savings with special acct :)
I think doing a RSP investing using CPF-SA is fine, but it is not advisable with CPF-OA as it incurs bank agent fees for each transaction..

Can do a lump sum investment into a money market fund, then slowly RSP manually.
